Bill and Susan McTighe (pictured above) started Home Environmental in 1994,
less than a year after the company Bill worked for was acquired. Rather than be relocated
to Ohio as a result of the acquisition, Bill & Susan decided to start their own
business. Together they envisioned a business that would take full advantage of Bill's
strong technical and marketing background, particularly in the environmental controls
area. Shortly after, Home Environmental was born.
Bill and Susan researched the problems and concerns most of us face regarding the
healthfulness of our home environment. With the double digit growth in allergies and
asthma (especially in the young), and growing concerns for contaminants in our air and
water, they felt that their customers would find their specialized knowledge and high
quality products offerings to be a good solution.
One way that they stay current, is to write an article a month for a local newspaper on a
wide range of home environment issues for the last four years. Many of these articles are
available to you in the News/Articles Section of this web site. They are constantly
evaluating new products. Since Bill evaluated products in significant detail, many
manufacturers consult with Bill on design change suggestions. Bill is a nationally
recognized Water Quality Specialist and is certified by the Water Quality Association.
They are strongly personally committed to this business to the benefit on their customers.
